1) Dewey's dad, Jimmy, worked on a "secret" project was the gadget, which was supposed to kill the Japs and win the war.
2) Dewey's dad died instantly in a car crash with drunk drivers. She then didn't have any parents and had to live with the Gordon's, in their apartment with Suze, a girl around Dewey's age and who eventually becomes Dewey's best friend.
3) People such as scientists and sargeants had to move to a place called the Hill to make this invention. They would stay at work for hours and even work when their shift was over to try to win the war.
Good book
1) The secret project that Dewey's dad worked on was the atomic bomb that was built to kill the Japs and end the war.
2) Dewey's dad was killed when a drunk soldier accidentally ran him over and was killed instantly. The death of her dad changed her life because she from then on lived with the Gordon Family.
3) The Green Glass was created by the atomic bomb because it turned all the sand into glass and melted everything else. I feel that it was a good idea because it ended the war, because they attacked us first and the decision was made to just end the war with the two atomic bombs.
