1)Uncle Chester leaves Hattie a horse named Plug, his house, a cow named Violet, fields, a barn, and a chest filled with belongings.
2)Hattie thinks that the chest is a connection or guide for her and Uncle chester is the one directing her, (telling what to do).
3)Karl is German, and the Americans and Europeans are fighting the Germans. I have not yet read Penny From Heaven.
4) Yes, because she has has experience with work, friends, and living/taking care of herself.
1) Uncle Chester left Hattie his claim, his house and everything in it, a cow named Violet, a horse named Plug, 480 rods of fence, and a trunk full of things.
2) She thinks the chest is full of things that will get her through like tips and guides.
3)Karl is a German and in the time the story takes place the Americans and Germans are fighting in war.
4)I think Hattie will be happy and succesful because she has lots of friends, hardworking, talented, and strong willing.
I cried so much when I found out Mattie died and when they were moving! :(
