1) The Hawthorne sisters adopted Maude because they needed a young, small girl to play the role of Caroline, a girl who drowned when she was at the ocean alone.

2)The Hawthorne sister's family business was to be able to "speak" to the dead, making the family members able to talk to loved ones, for pay.

3)Some of the tricks the Hawthorne sisters used were cutting down the wick of the candles, making them go out by themselves. They also used Maud as the role of Caroline.

4) I think the experience turned her into a better person because before she was mean and bossy, but now she is sensitive, understanding, and altogether a better behaved child.

1) The Hawthorne sisters adopted Maude because they her to play Caroline Lambert in the séances.

2) The Hawthorne sister's family business is to hold séances, to pretend to be dead relatives and to be frauds.

3) Some of the tricks the Hawthorne sister's used in their work were the swinging chandelier, the secret map cupboard, and the trick candles.

4) I think that Maude's experience with the Hawthorne sisters shaped her into a better person because she learned to be more respectful to people and not to lie as much as she used to.

P.S. I liked this book because I learned about séances and mediums, like Hawthorne sisters.

1) The Hawthorne sisters adopted Maud because they needed a little girl to play the part of Caroline {a little girl who drowned} during a senace.

2) The Hawthorne's family buisness
was being mediums. They held seanceas were they supposedbly talked to the dead.

3) The tricks the used were the thread you pulled that made the chandelier sway, the metal cricket thing, the ear tumpet, and making the candles go out by themselves.

4) I think it made her a better person because she used to be mean and so daring and now she was sensitive and kind.
