1) The reason that Jeddy is following in his dad's police footsteps is what breaks them apart. Rueben feels he cannot trust them.

2) Yes I did know about the prohibitian. I think the rum-running would be even worse if it were still in act now because of technology advances.

3) Rueben ends up marrying Marina McKenzie otherwise known as Jeddy's older sister.

1) Rueben and Jeddy were divided bacause of the fact that Jeddy started going into his dad's police buisness and helping him.

2) Yes I did know about the prohibiton but I do not think it would wor know because we have had so many advances in technology that the rummrunning would surely be increased by a large number.

3) Rueben ended up marrying Marina Mckhenzie also known as Jeddy's older sister. I was suprised and shocked since Jeddy's father delevoped hatred for Rueben.

1. Jeddy's father is a police chief. However, Ruben has mixed feelings about the Prohibition law, and sometimes finds himself on the wrong side of the law.

2. Yes, I've learned about Prohibition from school and television programs, such as the History Channel. No, Prohibition didn't work then, and it wouldn't work now. The production and distribution of alcohol are a huge industry. If Prohibition was in effect now, it could potentially make the drug problem even worse.

3. Ruben marries Jeddy's older sister Marina. No, I wasn't surprised. They knew each other for a long time, and he liked her even as a young boy.

1) Ruben and Jeddy make an agreement that Jeddy will not ask questions about what Ruben had done or seen, and Ruben would not let anything about rum-running slip his lips that Jeddy will have to report because it is police business. But, their relationship fell apart because they were having to keep secrets and they were not talking as much.

2) I knew about prohibition in America from school. I read a book called No Promises in the Wind, which is a book about two boys growing up during the Great Depression. They hitch a ride with a man who has hooch in tanks in his car. I do not think prohibition laws would work today because there are even more criminals and more alcoholics now than ever before. I do not think that a law against alcohol would help the drug problem.

3) Although the story does not say exactly who Ruben marries, the story gives hints that she is
Jeddy's older sister, Marina McKenzie. I was not surprised because Ruben had secretly been crushing on her. Then, Billy died. Also, the story gives hints to who it is, like that he can not wait to have his wife's clam chowder. Also, that she is gone taking care of Jeddy, then he dies.
