WORTH by A. LaFaye

1. How did Nathaniel feel about John Worth when he first came to the farm. Did his feelings towards John change with time?

2. Were you surprised by John's past? Had you ever heard of an orphan train before?

3. Do you think you would like to attend the school that Nathaniel went to? Why or why not?

1) Nathaniel didn't like John Worth at all at the beginning of the story. He was jealous because he was spending time with his dad and he was doing his work with the ability of walking. Nathaniel's feelings changed during the story and was not only accepting him as a friend, but as a brother, too.

2)I was very surprised when the story said that John's brother, three sisters, mom, and dad died in a fire while John was playing a game. I have heard of an orphan train in my reading class because of another story we read. I feel baed for those orphans.
3)I do nkot think that I would like to attend Nathaniel's school because of the "gangs" and that different ages are all taught at one time.
P.S.
This was a very good story even though it was extremely short.

1)Nathaniel felt jealous of John Worth because John could walk, do his chores and responsibilities, and he was getting a lot of attention from his father.

2)I was very surprised about Jonh's past because I never imagined the horrors he went through with his brother, three sisters, mom, and dad dieing while he, himself was playing a game and getting excited about winning a little less than two dollars. Also, seeing a boy around his age being hung by the neck because he was hungry and stole a steak from a meat shop. I think that is too much for a boy his age to handle.
3)I do not think that I would like to attend Nait's school because of the "gangs" and the fact that all of the age groups are in one class togeter.
P.S.
even though this book was very, very short it was really good! :)
