1) Aunt Ruthie is shot in her heart by a man using the identy of Joe Harden at the time and as soon as the bullet hit her she falls onto the ground, dead. Both of the girls then have to stay and work at the reverand's house. When Mrs. and Mr. Peasley make it clear that Maude March has to be married off and Sally could not go to live with the married couple. Maude did not want to get married to a man of such an age, so she and her younger sister discided to run off with only 2 pairs of clothes, Food that they need to survive, and 2 horses, which they would not be able to survive without.
2) A man who went from the name Joe Harden, to Marion Hardy(his real name), and finally to "Dusty Har de Har Har", was the person who helped Sallie and Maude out the most during their journey.
3) Marion Hardley is a man of the age twenty-seven who doesn't feel confidnet with his born name. He is a great shooter who killed Aunt Ruthie and also shot a man while robbing a bank. He takes care of to girls desguised as boys get to a city called Independence to find their long lost relative, Unle Arlen Waters. I feel mad at Marion at times like when he showed up in a gang, but not really in a gang at ben Chaplin's house. I also felt bad when Marion said aver and aver again that shooting Aunt Ruthie was an accident, but no one would believe him, and also when Maude was treating him badly throughout the story.
This was another great story!!!!!
